Glutathione Treatment
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide (cysteine, glycine, glutamic acid) antioxidant naturally produced inside the body, and is found in surprisingly high levels in most cells. GSH helps mainly in hydration, detoxification and immunity boost.
How it works:
GSH depletion has been implicated in several conditions such as neurodegenerative, pulmonary, immune, cardiovascular, liver diseases and aging, among others. GSH levels in our body can fall due to poor nutrition, stress, toxins, illness, ageing, and pollution. GSH therapy has become increasingly popular worldwide due to its many benefits:
Enhanced immune function
Increased energy levels
Decreased inflammation and pain
Detoxification
Better sleep and concentration
Decreased liver damage
Probable help in weight loss
Probable help in slowing down progress of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer, cancer and in prevention of diabetes in pre-diabetics.
Glutathione in dermatology:
Reducing hyperpigmentation
Improving skin elasticity, smoothness and hydration, hence imparting a healthy skin glow.
Slowing signs of ageing
Probable help in strengthening hair and nails.
Important Points:
The effect of GSH is permanent as long as one maintains it. For example: whitening effect is permanent until we get a tan!
Best results are seen after 2-3 months of consistent treatment.
Ways of supplementing GSH: Oral tablets, Sublingual spray, Intravenous drip or intravenous push. Each option has pros and cons. Please consult your doctor to know which option or combination work best for you.
Side effects of GSH therapy are rare and mostly dose-dependent. They include: allergic reaction, cramps, bloating, decreased zinc levels, mild headaches, lightening of hair.
