Vascular Lesions Removal

Laser removal of vascular lesions such as spider veins and telangiectasias.

How it works:

The Nd:YAG laser, although not a first choice for vascular lesions, remain a mainstay of treatment for certain vascular pathologies. The mechanism of action is based on selective photothermolysis. The thermal energy created by the laser allows for selective destruction of oxygenated and deoxygenated haemoglobin with only minimal damage to the surrounding tissues. It can be used for erythema, facial telangiectasis, cherry angiomas, spider veins, leg veins, venous lakes, port wine stain, hemangioma.

Important points:

  1. 1-5 sessions are recommended, 3-4 weeks apart. Immediate blanching is observed after procedure.

  2. Side effects include swelling, redness, bruising, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

  3. Good sun protection should be practiced. Resume normal activities 48hrs after procedure.
